Featured in Palm Springs Life. When East Coast clients hired us to furnish their first Palm Springs home, they brought an impressive collection of art and furniture with them. Our job was to use their personal catalogue as a starting point for refreshing an architecturally significant home in the William-Krisel-designed Kings Point neighborhood. We unified the wall and trim color to enunciate the architecture; replaced dark carpets with a barely-there silver that creates a seamless envelope for simple yet significant furnishings; presented a floor plan based on the pieces they most wanted to ship; and selected new pieces that marry effortlessly with the ones they already had, like the curved sofa meant to echo their iconic Ploum one.

The owners also had an impressive library— one that merited a custom book wall inspired by Krisel’s own built-in cabinetry.

While the owners loved the idea of a white box, they also wanted to incorporate the color blue, so we punctuated the minimalist spaces with that hue against a neutral backdrop. We personalized the home by reinventing the owners’ art and books: with a curated gallery wall, pairing pieces that had not formerly been juxtaposed, and a custom book wall to display or hide his impressive collection.
