DESERT LAKES

PLAYING THROUGH

FURNISHINGS + RENOVATION | PALM SPRINGS, CA

When a dedicated golfer and a next-level baker went looking for a place in Palm Springs, it’s no surprise they landed at Seven Lakes Country Club. The only gated golf club in the city, this iconic circa-1964 complex was designed to reflect the indoor/outdoor appeal of resort living and entertaining.

FURNISHINGS + RENOVATION | PALM SPRINGS, CA

When a dedicated golfer and a next-level baker went looking for a place in Palm Springs, it’s no surprise they landed at Seven Lakes Country Club— an iconic circa-1964 complex designed to define resort living. First, we freshened up the shell with a new fireplace and built-in cabinetry. Then we created a furnishings plan that encourages easy entertaining but still offers a few ‘getaway’ spots for relaxing (Exhibit A: the chaise by the window).

We freshened up the shell, updating the fireplace and creating built-in cabinetry to define the spaces. Then we created a furnishings plan that encourages easy entertaining for groups and still offers a few ‘getaway’ spots for relaxing (Exhibit A: the chaise by the window).

Because these clients spend half the year in Scotland, we wanted to give them our take on the Palm Springs ‘classics:’ vintage Baughman chairs, Laurel Company lamps, and a Probber-style sofa. Florence Knoll and Saarinen round out a furnishings collection drawn straight from the mid-century.

But Seven Lakes isn’t frozen in the past; it’s home to many in the creative/design community. So we kept the project in this century with new custom pieces like the primary night stands and Lawson Fenning dining pendant.
